Once a Pawn of Time consists of 10 mini-movements that tell a story of harmony, betrayal, war, and new hope. Performed as a whole or in segments, this piece features a plethora of musical ideas while also providing the performer the ability to select and play their favorites. Movements include: I. AFTER the fALL is a four mallet tenor pan suite composed of three movements: Retribution, Reflection, and Rebirth. Through the use of broad chorale passages interrupted by moments of perpetual motion, this piece portrays feelings of pain, sorrow, and regret, before eventually offering new hope.
